Formed around the farm where York once lived, the 400-acre Sgt. Alvin C. York State Historic Park is named in tribute of the World War I hero. An on-site museum contains a sizable collection of memorabilia from York's wartime service and personal life; surrounding the museum are picnic sites for families and larger groups of up to 50. The site is located 10 miles north of Jamestown, not far from the Kentucky state border.
